Fund the prevention that reaches drivers first

The truck-safety movement has strong voices for policy and public awareness. DrowsyRoads adds the piece that's missing: a free sleep-health screening put directly in a commercial driver's hands — prevention that makes the road safer for drivers and everyone who shares it.

Founding supporters welcome — tax-deductible giving opens with our 501(c)(3).
The real mission
Safer drivers mean safer roads — for everyone.
DrowsyRoads screens drivers for one reason: when a driver catches sleep apnea early and gets treated, the whole road gets safer — the driver, their family, and every motorist who shares the highway. This is prevention that protects the traveling public, not just the driver behind the wheel.
Why DrowsyRoads

The prevention piece the safety movement is missing

The organizations doing truck-safety work today do vital things — they raise public awareness and push for stronger federal rules on vehicle standards, speed limiters, and insurance minimums. That work shapes the system drivers operate in. But it works at the level of policy and the public — not the individual driver.

No one is putting a screening tool directly in an individual driver's hands. DrowsyRoads does exactly that — a private, three-minute obstructive sleep apnea risk check every commercial driver can take for free, before their DOT physical. It's prevention at the level of the driver, the one place the existing safety infrastructure doesn't reach.

The broader safety movement
Advocates for stronger federal rules, vehicle standards, and public awareness. Vital work — but it operates at the level of policy and the public.

Your impact

What your support builds

DrowsyRoads runs lean and grassroots — meeting drivers where they already are. Your support funds the whole chain: the outreach that reaches drivers, the tool that serves them, and the everyday work of running an honest nonprofit behind it.

1

On-the-ground outreach. Canvassing at truck stops and terminals — the travel, fuel, and hands it takes to put the screening in front of drivers where they already are.

2

Cards & printed materials. The QR screening cards and plain-language fatigue-health handouts we give drivers face to face — the campaign's core tools.

3

The free tool, kept running. The website, software, and hosting that keep the screening free, private, and online for every driver — no signup, nothing stored.

4

A nonprofit run right. The legal, filing, and accounting work that keeps DrowsyRoads compliant and transparent — so your support is stewarded properly.

How we operate

Non-partisan by design

DrowsyRoads is a prevention organization that works with everyone and is beholden to no one. We collaborate across the whole safety landscape — drivers, carriers, medical examiners, safety agencies, and advocates alike — because preventing driver fatigue serves all of them.

Our commitments to every supporter

DrowsyRoads accepts donations as unrestricted charitable support under a written gift-acceptance policy, and maintains a diversified base of support so that no single donor or group owns our voice. Our mission is prevention, and our independence is what makes it credible.
